GRUPPO FOLKLORISTICO MONTE PATULO
It was way back in 1989, when, after numerous successes in the region and numerous participations in local cultural events, the Folk Group decided, for the first time, to organize an event of its own, aimed at realizing one of the association's two dreams: bringing THE WORLD to Sant'Angelo Romano. Thus began the first edition of what was then still a cultural exchange between regions: Sant'Angelo Romano and the "Monte Pàtulo" Folk Group met for the first time a group from outside the region, the "San Basilio" Folk Group from Cagliari. From then on, the road was uphill, in every sense. The ambitions, dreams, responsibilities, and pressures grew enormously, but what grew most were the satisfactions, the goals achieved, and the continents hosted. Already in its second year, directly from Russia (then still the USSR), the “Kaluga” Folk Group had the honor of performing on our stage and to date, after 26 long years, around 150 groups have brought their cultures and traditions to our country, four of the five continents have beaten their dance steps, twirled their costumes, sang their songs and played their music in the narrow streets of this beautiful village and have tasted what this crazy group of Italians always cares to defend and “export” with pride, Italianness. Over these long years, there have been countless friendships forged, experiences lived, collaborations, farewells and goodbyes, tears, hugs and hearts that have united, all under two great flags, that of Music and that of Folklore.
