WAPA POR EL ESTADO DE VERACRUZ
The first edition of the Veracruz Multicultural Festival was born in 2023 from the need to integrate and exchange cultural experiences, promoting and stimulating the creation, production, distribution, and enjoyment of the arts, as well as the dissemination of indigenous dances, thus raising the quality of artistic and cultural activities, which is our primary objective.
For two consecutive years, the Multicultural Festival has been held with great success in the cities of Orizaba and Xalapa, in the state of Veracruz. This year, 2026, our goal is to organize it for the second time in Xalapa, the state capital, and in the port city of Veracruz. We are driven by the urgent need to generate economic activity through the influx of artists from across the state and our indigenous communities, as well as national and international artists belonging to WAPA, showcasing our state's rich cultural heritage to the world and creating an event of international scope.
The Veracruz Multicultural Festival has contributed to enriching the artistic and cultural offerings of the state of Veracruz.
It has promoted understanding of the resulting cultural diversity, expanding alternatives; nurturing diverse capabilities, human values, and worldviews; and allowing the wisdom of the past to prepare us for the future, creating a solid foundation of identity for new generations.
It has promoted artistic activities for children, adolescents, adults, and vulnerable groups, as part of holistic human development, forging a bond to educate and preserve our customs and traditions.
Strengthening our culture as a creator of identity, generator of social inclusion, unifier and catalyst of great cultural diversity, and promoter of participation is fundamental to the global social development strategy.
