FUNDACION CULTURAL MUYU

FUNDACION CULTURAL MUYU

Based in San Juan de Ilumán, Otavalo, Ecuador, Fundación Cultural Muyu promotes the living heritage of Andean communities through traditional dance, live music, distinctive costumes and collective artistic expression. Its work connects cultural memory, intergenerational learning and international exchange.
Dance and live musicians perform together. Musical interpretation is an integral part of the staging, shaping movement, rhythm and the festive character of each performance. The foundation works with children, young people and adults, encouraging the continuity of Ecuadorian traditions.
