The "Flavio Fiorletta" International Folklore Festival in the City of Alatri is one of the main events held during the summer season. It has a sociocultural focus, with a strong intercultural component thanks to the presence of guests from every continent. Through traditional dance performances, ethnic music, and tastings of typical products, it aims to highlight the importance of, and promote awareness and respect for, the "cultural identities" of all the peoples represented. The event was created with the aim of bringing together peoples from all over the world and promoting their folklore, traditions, and culture. This aspect is particularly significant since UNESCO has recognized folk culture and traditions as an intangible heritage of humanity for several years, on a par with monuments, archaeological sites, and natural environments. Furthermore, while the contemporary age presents us with bitter conflicts between peoples, the festival context becomes a platform for discussion, openness, mutual understanding, and the contextual development of integration.
The Festival is the most anticipated summer event in Alatri, Ciociaria, a land that every year celebrates, through dance, the union between its culture and that of the entire world.
