ASSOCIATION CULTURELLE “EL AHLEM”
The Cultural Association "EL AHLEM" was founded in 2009 in Sidi Bel Abbes, Algeria. It is a dedicated ensemble specializing in the preservation and performance of Algeria's traditional folkloric dance and music. Our mission is to be a vibrant ambassador for the nation's intangible cultural heritage, showcasing its depth and diversity to local and international audiences.
Our group is composed of talented male and female musicians and dancers, ranging in age from 16 to 50 years old, united by their passion for preserving Algerian traditions.
With a rich history of performances across the globe, "EL AHLEM" has proudly represented Algeria at festivals and cultural events in Germany, France, Portugal, Poland, Italy, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Spain, Romania, Türkiye, and the United Arab Emirates.
Our repertoire features a vibrant tapestry of traditional dances, each originating from a distinct region of Algeria. Every performance is a unique spectacle, defined by its authentic costume, specific dance style, traditional music, and characteristic musical instruments. Through our art, we strive to safeguard these ancestral traditions for future generations.
