ASSOCIAZIONE FOLKLORICA NORBENSIS
The Norbensis Folkloric Association was founded in Norma, thanks to the vision and dedication of architect Fabio Massimo Filippi, who since 1970 has aimed to preserve and enhance the folk traditions of the city and surrounding areas.
Passionate about history and folk culture, Filippi has collected a series of elements and testimonies of local tradition, such as dances, songs, costumes, and customs, thus deepening anthropological studies that he later developed into stage adaptations. In 1995, he created the international folklore festival with the slogan "Folklore for the peace of peoples," now called the NORBENSIS festival; as he liked to describe it, "a contribution, a small piece in the great global mosaic of peace." Over the years, the Norbensis Folkloric Association has continued to grow and spread knowledge of local culture and traditions, participating in numerous national and international events and cultural tours. Thanks to the passion and commitment of its members, Norbensis has become an important player in the local cultural scene. It has successfully engaged the community's youth in active participation, thus imparting a historical and cultural understanding of their local area and a sense of belonging. It participates in social outreach initiatives and intercultural exchange opportunities through the aforementioned festival and tours abroad, thus promoting folk culture and keeping local traditions alive over time.
Today, the Norbensis Folkloric Association continues to be a point of reference for the promotion of the folk traditions of the city of Norma and the surrounding region, thanks to the passion and commitment of its members and the innovative vision of its founder, architect Fabio Massimo Filippi.
