GRUPO FOLCLORICO DE DANCAS E CANTARES DE MODIVAS
The Modivas Folk Dance and Singing Group is based in the Parish of Modivas, in the municipality of Vila do Conde, but represents the customs and traditions of the ancient Mayan lands to which it belonged until the mid-1830s.
The lyrics of the songs presented by the group reflect joyful, but often also painful and difficult, experiences. The costumes they wear are representative of the period from the mid-19th century to the early 20th century and come from an authentic collection compiled by our elders and from the parish council archives.
With the exuberant joy that characterizes the folklore of our region, the group continues to represent the Douro Litoral Norte wherever it goes.
