Carpinone, the 24th International Folklore Festival concludes successfully.

Official greetings were conveyed on behalf of IFFGA, represented at the event by its Secretary General, Prof. Arcangelo Di Micco.

Carpinone (IS), August 13, 2026 – The 24th edition of the Carpinone International Folklore Festival concluded last night; it was a grand celebration of music, dance, and folk traditions that brought cultures from 11 nations and 4 continents to the heart of Molise, featuring around 350 participating artists.

The evening of August 12th transformed Carpinone into a veritable global stage, treating the large audience to a journey through diverse sounds, colors, costumes, and traditions.

The presence of IFFGA (International Folklore Festival & Groups Association), represented by its Secretary General, Prof. Arcangelo Di Micco, was particularly significant. IFFGA’s participation confirms the event's importance within the international folklore landscape and strengthens the dialogue among festivals, groups, and cultural organizations dedicated to preserving intangible heritage.

This is a major achievement for the "Ru Maccature" Folk Group—the festival's organizer—which will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2026 and has spent over half a century promoting Molise’s folk culture while fostering encounters with traditions from around the world. Kudos go to the host group's president, Michele Castrilli, for the meticulous care and flawless organization of one of the nation's most important and representative folklore events.

The Carpinone Festival thus proves itself to be not merely a spectacular event, but above all a place for people to meet, learn from one another, and forge friendships—a setting where folklore becomes a tangible tool for intercultural dialogue.

For IFFGA, the attendance of Prof. Arcangelo Di Micco—who highlighted in an interview the importance of events of such extraordinary cultural and artistic caliber as the Carpinone Festival—served as another opportunity to demonstrate the association's commitment to building international connections and supporting the groups that safeguard and pass on the heritage of folk music and traditions.

Carpinone bids farewell to the folklore community following an evening marked by high attendance and, above all, exceptional artistic quality, leaving behind a universal message: diverse cultures can come together, recognize one another, and become part of a single, great community.
