ASSOCIAZIONE GRUPPO FOLK LA TAKKARATA
The group "La Takkarata" (La Taccarata) founded in 1969 is a research group in the field of folklore and was born with the purpose of describing the work of popular groups that performed in Fragneto Monforte (BN) already in 1920, reported by the Fragnetan chronicles of the time.
The name takes its cue from a traditional dance - the taccarata - defined for the rhythmic use that is made of "takkare", aged olive sticks.

In 1996 the board of "The Takkarata" decided to create a "Newspaper of popular arts and traditions" and also "The Golden Linden", a special award for people interested in folklore.
In 1998 "La Takkarata" recorded a CD and a MC with the title: "Popular Dances and Songs in Fragneto Monforte" - the second edition from 2016.
Every year the study center organizes, in the province of Benevento, in the Regions of Campania, Molise, Lazio, the "Sannio Mondial Folk"; an international festival of folklore groups - with meetings, exhibitions and balloon fire shows.
