GRUPPO FOLK PUTIFIGARI

The Putifigari Folk Group, a cultural association dedicated to safeguarding, enhancing, and promoting the folk traditions of Sardinia, and specifically the cultural heritage of the Putifigari community, has carried out an intensive and continuous program of folkloric, cultural, and regional promotion activities over the 2024–2026 period.
The Group has participated in numerous folklore festivals, traditional celebrations, and religious and cultural events—at local, regional, national, and international levels—showcasing Putifigari’s traditional costumes alongside the music and dances of the Sardinian tradition.
Particular emphasis has been placed on cultural exchange between different peoples and traditions, achieved through participation in international events and by hosting folklore groups from various nations in Sardinia.
Key highlights of 2026 include the Group’s participation in the 9th POLKA International Folklore Festival in Bychlew, Poland, in July, and the organization of the 9th International Folklore Festival in Putifigari on August 12, 2026; the latter event featured four international groups alongside local folklore and cultural organizations.
Furthermore, the Group has taken part in major events celebrating Sardinian tradition and folklore, collaborating with local associations, choirs, folk groups, municipal authorities, and cultural entities. It has also conducted activities aimed at passing on the dances, music, costumes, and core identity values of Sardinian folk culture to new generations.
The Putifigari Folk Group’s activities are thus dedicated to preserving intangible cultural heritage, promoting Sardinia’s identity, and fostering opportunities for connection, friendship, and cultural exchange at regional, national, and international levels.
